19th Century Boxwood and Ebonized Base Tea Caddy, English, circa 1820

19th century boxwood and ebonized base tea caddy in the form of a flower with a dome glass panel which holds a small bouquet of dried flowers. The interior is all original with remnants of a lead lining date circa 1820.

A decorative Japanese Silver box with two compartments. The hammered surface and the richly overlaid iris flower decoration really enhances this beautiful piece. Maker’s mark to panel inlaid to base, the interior hardwood lining is also excellent quality.
