19th Century Boxwood and Ebonized Base Tea Caddy, English, circa 1820

19th century boxwood and ebonized base tea caddy in the form of a flower with a dome glass panel which holds a small bouquet of dried flowers. The interior is all original with remnants of a lead lining date circa 1820.

H 6 in. x W 4 in. x D 4 in.

H 15.24 cm x W 10.16 cm x D 10.16 cm


The muted soft pink colour is very unusual the original shade was brighter & has naturally faded over time. Frames of this quality were usually retailed by either Asprey & Co., Mappin Bros. or Barrett & Co.
