Antique Sterling Silver Picture Frame By Henry John & Albert Edward Batson 1897

Antique Sterling Silver Photo Frame By Henry John & Albert Edward Batson, Date London 1897.

This is one of the most beautiful sterling silver frames I have seen in a long time which is in excellent condition and fully hallmarked.

By lifting a bar at the top, the photograph or picture just slides down behind the glass as shown in the images.

The back and silver easel and support are both hallmarked.

This picture frame would make a wonderful gift.

About the maker: Henry John & Albert Edward Batson were notable English silversmiths primarily active in the 19th century. His work, often characterized by fine craftsmanship and quality, would have been recognized for its precision and elegant design. As a silversmiths they would have created various silver objects, including trays, tea sets, flatware, and decorative pieces they were likely part of the broader tradition of English silversmiths who worked during a time when silver was highly prized both for its value and aesthetic appeal. His work may have been hallmarked in London, as many prominent silversmiths of that period were based in or around the city.
